Annotation. The article is devoted to the philosophical substantiation of the phenomenon of «mavericks» (non standard employees) as drivers of innovative development in the context of the postmodern crisis of traditional forms of sociality. The author argues that postmodernism, having destroyed classical metanarratives, gives rise to new modes of being, one of which is EkstaSein (from Ekstase – self transcendence, ecstasy, and Sein – being). In contrast to established ontological structures, EkstaSein captures the existential event of a conscious rupture with averageness, which emerges in marginal, informal communities («freaks», outcasts, subcultures). Based on an analysis of the strategies of PepsiCo (Japanese branch), Amazon, Netflix, Google X, and o9 Solutions, the mechanisms of institutionalizing EkstaSein are identified: regular reorganizations, two pizza teams, HR policies based on the «keeper test», spinning off successful projects into independent companies, and public recognition of paranoia. It is argued that destruction is not opposite to potential but is its direct manifestation: any disruption of order carries the possibility of breakthrough. The characteristics of a new type of top manager – EkstaSein CEO – are formulated: existential tolerance for otherness, architectural thinking, readiness for temporary downturns and the legitimation of conflict and failure. It is concluded that the ability to consciously cultivate EkstaSein is a key factor for survival and prosperity under conditions of postmodern uncertainty.

Keywords: conscious destruction, destruction as potentiality, EkstaSein, innovation leadership, mavericks, organisational culture, paranoia, postmodernism.
