В данной статье представлены некоторые ключевые аспекты особого гуманитарного жанра интеллектуальной истории, освещённые через призму актуальных методологических проблем исторической интерпретации текстов прошлых эпох. В качестве предмета рассмотрены оригинальные идеи британского интеллектуального историка Ричарда Уотмора, детально сформулированные в его монографии «What is Intellectual History?» Полагается, что позиция рассматриваемого автора не только демонстрирует облик сложнейшей гуманитарной области, но также даёт свой уникальный взгляд на актуальные проблемы за счёт комплексного охвата и единого концептуального взгляда на историческую интерпретацию и способы её осуществления. Произведена попытка системно представить уотморовский подход к интеллектуальной истории, характерный предельным расширением междисциплинарности контекстуализма, обострением исторической аналитики и культурологической чуткости.

This article presents some key aspects of a special humanitarian genre of intellectual history, illuminated through the prism of actual methodological problems of historical interpretation of the texts of past epochs. The subject is the original ideas of the British intellectual historian Richard Watmore, formulated in detail in his monograph «What is Intellectual History?». It is believed that the position of the author in question not only demonstrates the appearance of the most complex humanitarian field, but also gives his own unique view of current problems due to its comprehensive coverage and a single conceptual view of historical interpretation and ways of its implementation. It is made an attempt to present Watmore's approach of intellectual history systematically which is characterized by the expansion of the interdisciplinarity of contextualism, the intensification of historical analytics and cultural sensitivity.
